FK/IK Switching:
Matching Pole Vectors to FK
Pole Vector matching is tricky
- Chain must be planar
- Twist parameter must be locked at 0
- Pole vector control must be 3 DOF
- Interpolation problematic for large twist changes
Simple Method:
- Duplicate pole vector control
- Point constrain duplicate to elbow/knee joint
- Copy duplicate's values to original control
- Delete duplicate
Complex method:
- Find average of first & last joint in worldspace
- Get worldspace vector from there to elbow/knee
- Double the vector
- Add vector to midpoint; place control
If PV control is not in world space,
use “faking method to position it
