FK/IK Switching:
Simple Alternatives to FK/IK
“Dingo� setup: simple but cluttered
- Simulating 3 bones? Use 3 bones
- Drive result limb with constraint switch
- Easy to debug, but inelegant
Pseudo FK: add swing action to IK
- Body space IK with an extra pivot at hip / shoulder
- Puts IK target into a “curved space�
- Swing limbs by rotating the parent node
- Uses:
- Movement anims with which need body space IK and “swing� action
- Use constraint-switch handoff for world-body transitions
- Watch out for control overlaps!
