Pole Vectors:
Pole Vector Control Objects
Even if you use twist, PV has to live somewhere
Typical Leg setup:
- PV parented to foot control
- Well ahead of the foot for safety
- Only needs 1 or 2 DOF
- Can be driven indirectly by parameters on foot
Typical Arm setup:
- PV parented to C-G or Torso
- Torso better for “locked poses, eg aiming
- C-G better for balancing, reaching behavior
- Needs all 3 DOF
GUI tips:
- Line indicator connecting control to elbow/knee for clarity
- Control linked to elbow/knee with aim constraint
- For knees, invisible PV driven by parameter on foot control
