Spline IK Management
Stability
- Bones derive orientation from curve tangent
- Control tangents by grouping CV's
- Group should include at least 4 cv's
- Control groups should be larger than bones they control
- Scaling control groups increases tightness of the spline
Popping
- When curve is too short for bone chain
- Prevent pops by extending control curve
Snapping
- Occurs when curve is too tight
- Minimize by limiting the number of Cvs
- In Maya, try smoothCurve with history
